Memorial Day is a U.S. federal holiday observed on the last Monday in May (May 25, 2026) to mourn and honor military personnel who died in service. Originally known as "Decoration Day," it is a day of remembrance for the fallen, often marked by visiting cemeteries and holding a National Moment of Remembrance at 3 p.m.
